We are living in a digital world. It plays an important part in our student’s lives. We model and educate our children on how to use technology positively, responsibly and safely. We have open discussions on content children have seen and provide skills they can use to be safe. We recognise that technology can allow pupils to share their learning in creative ways and understand the accessibility opportunities technology can provide for our children. Computing orientates the whole curriculum enabling learning to be more creative whilst developing children's skills.

During Key Stage 1, pupils begin to develop their understanding of computing by learning how to use technology purposefully and safely. They explore basic algorithms and use simple programming to create and debug instructions. Pupils are introduced to digital content and begin to understand how information can be stored and shared. They learn to use technology to express their ideas and develop confidence in using devices to support their learning.
During Key Stage 2, pupils build on their knowledge by designing, writing and debugging more complex programs. They develop logical reasoning skills and learn how to use technology to collect, analyse, and present data. Pupils deepen their understanding of networks and the internet, including how to use search technologies effectively. They become more aware of the impact of technology on society and learn to use digital tools responsibly and creatively to communicate and collaborate.
