Week Commencing 15/09/2025

It’s been a jam-packed week! Our provision theme has been feelings and emotions.

Reception have been practising the sounds s, a, t, p, i, and n, with a focus on beginning to blend CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words.

Year 1 have been working on CVCC words, while Year 2 have been exploring words that use the soft ‘c’ (which sounds like ‘s’).

In maths, Reception have been recognising and manipulating the number 3. Year 1 and 2 have been exploring the composition of numbers to 10 and learning about different ways these numbers can be represented.

In English, Year 1 and 2 have been working on single-clause sentences and starting to add interesting adjectives to make their writing more engaging.

Reception have also begun their baseline assessments and are doing an incredible job with their listening skills!

In topic, we’ve been learning about towns and cities around England.

In PSHE, we’ve discussed what it means to belong to a group.

In DT, we completed an exciting joint project with Saturn class, designing and building a bridge to help the Gingerbread Man escape the fox!

And in outdoor learning, the children explored different textures found in nature.
