Week ending 24/10/25

The week began with the Harvest Festival on Monday afternoon, which was lovely, as per usual. The Saturn children read and sang beautifully.

In English, we have begun to explore the story 'Rain Player' which is set in ancient Maya and is about a ball game against a god. We are using the book to learn about punctuating and characterising direct speech. In our PE lesson this week, the children worked in groups to create and play their own versions of the ball game (pok-a-tok) beforeteaching other children in the class to play it too.

In maths, the children have been learning about prime numbers, as well as how to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000. Today, the children enjoyed exploring squared and cubed numbers through 3D drawing, using isometric paper.

In science, the children completed their own practical activities to prove that light travels in straight lines.
