Week ending 10/10/25
In Saturn this week, the children have practised using written methods for addition and subtraction (including solving worded problems), have written an informal letter and a persuasive argument, and have been thinking carefully about how to frame questions in science in order to get the best possible answers.
Some members of the class also auditioned for a mini talent show we will be holding (subsequent to a request from a pupil), where each class teacher is selecting one act to put forward. I thoroughly enjoyed all the performances that the children had prepared.
On Friday, we celebrated World Mental Health Day. Following a whole school assembly, we spent some time gardening before discussing the importance of positive self-talk and being kind to ourselves. The children wrote positive affirmations on the playground in chalk and then spent some time thinking about their own mental health first aid kits.
