This week in Maths we have been continuing our work with multiplication. We recognised factor pairs, multiplied and divided by 10 and 100, multiplied 3 one-digit numbers to find a product and ended the week with scaling. In English we started our new text ' Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx. We predicted what we think the story is about by looking at only the front cover, we wrote a character description using evidence from the text and illustrations and we ended the week with exploring how characters emotions change across a story and explained this using evidence. We started our new topic Ancient Egyptians. We spent time understanding where the Ancient Egyptians fit chronologically in a historical timeline, we explored hieroglyphs and discussed why they were used and we discussed the importance of Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. Finally in topic we became archaeologists and we excavated Ancient Egyptian artefacts! In Music we started our work with glockenspiels by revisiting specific notes. Finally, we ended the week with our first gymnastic lesson with Mrs O, and it was Cultural and Diversity day. We completed activities focused on languages, where we practised saying hello and friend in a variety of different languages and spoke about how these languages are the official languages for lots of different countries. Then we ended the day by creating an identity shield. We created our own shield to show who we are and shows our identity proudly.
